Delegation from the Inspection Générale des Finances of the Democratic Republic of Congo
The Institute of Federalism had the great honour of welcoming a delegation from the Inspection Générale des Finances of the Democratic Republic of Congo from 11 to 17 June 2024.
The General Inspectorate of Finance has a general mission of controlling, auditing, studying, advising and evaluating on all administrative and financial matters. It audits the finances of the State, local authorities, companies and public establishments.
Comprising inspectors general and the IGF coordinator, the delegation met experts on Swiss federalism. It also held discussions with the heads of departments responsible for contributions and audits, from the cantons, municipalities and from the Confederation. It also had the opportunity to meet Sabine D'Amelio-Favez, Director of the Swiss Federal Finance Administration.
The aim of the delegation was to understand fiscal federalism, the issues involved and how it works, with a view to enhancing the financial control expertise and apply the gained knowledge to the DRC.
