Lecture by Prof. Dr. Slawomir Lukasiewicz


Slawomir Lukasiewicz, PhD Hab., professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin came to the Instittute of Federalism for a one-week research stay. He is a historian, political scientist and Europeanist. Prof. Lukasiewicz has been a visiting scholar at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University from 2019 to 2023. He is the recipient of the 2019/2020 Fulbright Senior Award, as well as a grantee of the Kosciuszko Foundation, and the National Science Center in Poland

He is currently conducting with Mykola Riabchuk a project financed by the Foundation for Polish Science titled "From discourse of 'Europeanness' to EU membership: integration narratives in Poland and Ukraine in comparative perspective. Merging theoretical and utilitarian approach."

He presented some of his main findings at the IFF on Tuesday 5 March and for a lecture entitled “Historical experiences and imaginations as a factor in the process of European integration. Lessons from previous enlargements for the future ones”.
