Nicolò Alessi successfully defended his PhD thesis in Verona on “Constitutional instruments for the accommodation of diversity”. Co-supervised by Prof Eva Maria Belser from the Institute of Federalism, Dr Alessi has obtained his title from both University of Verona and University of Fribourg. His work provided a global perspective on the issue of diversity management, by taking into account the most innovative traditions and legal instruments of the Global North and Global South. Based on this, the thesis proposes a renewed theoretical framework based on the expression “the Law of Diversity” and an analytical use of federalism to grasp the evolutions of this field.
