The question of extending constitutional jurisdiction

The Federal Parliament is currently discussing the question of expanding constitutional jurisdiction (see motions by the Councilors of States Engler and Zopfi). Prof. Andreas Stöckli from the Institute of Federalism and Christoph Grüninger, lawyer, take this discussion as an opportunity in their article in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) of August 15, 2022 to show the connections between constitutional jurisdiction and federalism.

Although the system itself works well, they advocate constitutional jurisdiction over federal laws, particularly for federal reasons.
