What is your research about?

My research focuses on conflict resolution and peacebuilding in relation to Northern Ireland politics. Currently, I am investigating the relationship between conflict resolution and power sharing, specifically focusing on adaptability, adoptability and the conditions that allow for power sharing to succeed or fail. 

What is your background?

Originally born in San Francisco, California, I spent time growing up in both the city by the bay as well as Donegal, Ireland and Derry, Northern Ireland.

I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2014 with Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Communications and French. For the next few years, I worked in editorial and advertising at a magazine publishing company, before returning to San Francisco in 2017 to become a construction project manager. In 2019 I moved to Berlin to pursue a multi-city master’s degree from the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE). I received a master’s with distinction in Advanced European and International Studies in June 2020 in Nice, France and moved to Canterbury, UK shortly thereafter to begin my PhD at Canterbury Christ Church University. Throughout my time in Canterbury, I was fortunate enough to present at several conferences including the IPSA Virtual Colloquium in December 2020, the International Conference on Federalism, State and Society, held in Pakistan in March 2021, and the 2021 IPSA World Congress in Portugal, July 2021. In August of that same year, I received the opportunity to move to Fribourg, Switzerland to continue my doctoral research at the Institute of Federalism.
