The course consists of three elements: The first weeks are a crash course in ethics, in particular business ethics. These weeks are geared towards knowledge acquisition and the primary focus is introductory reading. The second element consists of reading a scientific article on one specific topic each week, such as executive compensation, fossil investments, marketing ethics, or the platform economy. The choice of topics can be shaped by students' interests. These weeks focus primarily on active discussion. The third element consists in each student answering one specific ethical issue from business life on the basis of a scheme for ethical decision-making which we learn about in class. The work will be presented and discussed in class. The evaluation is based on all three elements.
