A Conference in Rome on the social ethos in Catholic and Orthodox perspective was challenged by the war in Ukraine
From 31 March to 1 April 2022, the Dicastery for Integral Human Development in Rome hosted a conference on "Catholic and Orthodox Social Ethos after Laudato si'". The Conference was organised by the Dicastery, the "Katholische Sozialwissenschaftliche Zentralstelle" Mönchengladbach, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Rome) and the Study Centre for Eastern Churches at the University of Fribourg Switzerland.
The topic and the participants were challenged by the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian speakers gave first-hand accounts of the situation in their country. A Russian speaker was integrated into the exchange. This made possible deep moments of hope for the end of the war and a jointly shaped future.
