November 5th, 2021: Metropolitan Damaskinos - a bridge builder between East and West (on the 10th anniversary of his death)
Metropolitan Damaskinos Papandreou (+ 5 November 2011) was an ecumenical bridge builder between East and West and within the Orthodox world. He founded the Institute for Higher Studies in Orthodox Theology in Chambésy. The Study Centre for Eastern Churches is honouring him with a commemorative event to which Pope Benedict has sent a greeting address.
