Biografie

Prof Arnaud Chiolero, MD PhD, is an epidemiologist and public health physician (board certified). He is Full Prof of Public Health at the University of Fribourg, Adjunct Prof at the University of Berne, and Adjunct Prof in the School of Global and Population Health of McGill University (www.mcgill.ca/epi-biostat-occh/arnaud-chiolero) where he teaches about public health surveillance. Since October 2019, he is Director of the Population Health Laboratory (#PopHealthLab) at the University of Fribourg. He is facutly members of the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+; https://ssphplus.ch). He also works as chief-physician (médecin-chef) epidemiologist at the Observatoire valaisan de la santé in Sion (www.ovs.ch), Switzerland, where he oversees health surveillance activities. Initialy trained as a medical doctor (MD) at the University of Lausanne (www.unil.ch) in Switzerland, he trained in epidemiology at Erasmus University Rotterdam (www.nihes.nl) in the Netherlands (MSc) and at McGill University in Montreal (www.mcgill.ca) in Canada (PhD). He leads epidemiological research with a focus on life course epidemiology of chronic diseases and public health surveillance.
