Biography

PhD in Physical Geography from the University of Lausanne, with a focus on mountain geomorphology, geomatics/remote sensing, and field logistics, with an MSc from the University of Otago and a BSc from the University of Chile. My PhD and MSc studies developed my skills in mountain geomorphology and glaciology, analysing landforms and processes that shape mountain landscapes. I have developed expertise in geomatics and remote sensing techniques using tools like Geographic Information Systems (GIS), drone surveys, and satellite imagery to analyse and monitor changes in mountains. These skills have been applied in field studies across various mountain ranges such as the Alps, Southern Alps of New Zealand, and the Andes. Fully trilingual with extensive international experience acquired through higher education, professional endeavours, and scientific expeditions. Possessing an independent, disciplined work ethic, and the capacity to organize and coordinate multidisciplinary teams with a keen attention to detail. My passion, reflected in my academic, professional, and personal lifestyle, lies in improving the understanding of mountainous environments.
