Martin Gustav Edström
Biography
Since the beginning of March 2024, I have been a PhD student in Human Geography at the Department of Geosciences. I hold a master's degree in Cultural Anthropology from Uppsala University and a bachelor’s degree in Social Anthropology from Stockholm University. My current research project is part of the SNF project "Nuclear Strata: The Political Geology of Nuclear Waste Governance (NUCSTRAT)" which looks at the geological dimensions of nuclear waste governance. Drawing on my background in anthropology, I use social science research methods and theories to examine nuclear waste governance in Sweden. I am particularly interested in how the geosphere takes different discursive and material forms and becomes socio-politically significant.
