• Lecturer in Structural and Field Geology, 80-100%

  The Department of Geosciences at the University of Fribourg is seeking a lecturer in Structural and Field Geology for three years. Candidates should have completed a PhD degree in Earth Sciences in the broad domain of structural geology and/or tectonics preferentially with post-doctoral, teaching and field experience. Research interests may include, but are not limited to, basin and foreland tectonics and dynamics, mountain building processes, applied aspects in geosciences (e.g., geothermal energy, geological CO2 storage, rock mechanics, and/or seismic hazards).
  
  The successful candidate will have to teach min. 8 hours and max. 12 hours per week per semester in the broad domains of general geology, field geology, structural geology and tectonics at the BSc and MSc level, such as profile and mapping courses, excursions, regional geology. The candidate should be able to teach BSc courses in one of the two official languages of the University, French or German.
  
  The position is available at 80-100% at the level of lecturer for three years starting 1st of August 2026.
