Biography

My doctoral thesis at the Environmental Science and Humanities Institute at the University of Fribourg explores  what would have to be true for the political representation of nonhuman animals to be democratically defensible. My starting point is that animals are widely recognised as morally considerable yet remain absent from political representation.
I obtained my MA in Literature from Leiden University and my MSt in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. I have worked over twenty years in sustainable development, including as the director of Global Changemakers, an international NGO supporting youth-led projects.
