Applied Probability, Statistics and Mathematical Biology

Our research is centered on mathematical problems  arising in   statistics and  in systems biology. We are interested in robust covariance matrix estimation using data from Grassmann manifolds.  Such models appear in many applied contexts  of interest like image and video analysis.  We also focus on statistical computation in natural systems.   We try to understand how natural systems perform statistical inference and how such inference procedures are implemented in biological networks  and more generally in systems biology.  We also work in mathematical ecology on persistence and biodiversity.
