Steps to follow for enrollment and admission to your PhD programme at the University of Fribourg.
1 - Choose a field of study

2 - Find a thesis supervisor
Consider which professor in your discipline might be able to supervise you for your PhD and contact them directly.
Select your discipline on this page and click the “D” button to view a list of potential PhD supervisors. You can also consult the department’s website for your discipline, which usually lists its professors.

3 - Admission and Enrollment
Once you have received approval from your thesis supervisor, you can submit an official application for admission.

Your thesis supervisor's approval does not yet guarantee your admission to the doctoral programme. You must meet the admission requirements. Please follow the detailed procedure for admission and enrollment.
4 - Contacting the Faculty
Contact your faculty to obtain the specific requirements for the doctoral programme, as these vary from one faculty to another.
