Lukas Marian Kunerth
Biography
I am an Environmental Humanities researcher and a doctoral candidate in the Narrating Variety SNF project. Within this project and my PhD, my work will explore how the concept of biodiversity and its protection are justified in German language literary and societal narratives. I am especially interested in approaching these questions through ecocriticism speculative fiction and whilst applying Environmental Justice and Queer Ecologies lenses. My research interests further include graphic narratives and Energy Humanities/ Petroculture.
Before coming to Fribourg, I majored in Earth and Environmental Science during my B.Sc. at University College Freiburg (Germany) and received my M.A. in Environment and Society from the Rachel Carson Center at LMU Munich.
