Simon Kräuchi
Biography
Since February 2023, I have been a doctoral student at the Environmental Science and Humanities Institute at the University of Fribourg. In my doctoral thesis, I address the normative implications of ‘climate losses and damages’ – negative impacts of climate change that can no longer be averted. I am particularly interested in the institutionalisation of climate justice for such losses and damages and the associated ethical challenges, such as questions of procedural justice at local and international level.
I obtained my bachelor's degree in philosophy and political science from the University of Lucerne and went on to complete a master's degree in the history and philosophy of knowledge at ETH Zurich.
