Content

Target audience
This course is open to all students and staff of the University of Fribourg and partner institutions who are at B1 level.

Course contents and teaching method
You would like to practise your French conversation skills for one hour per week during the lunch break. We will discuss current social and cultural topics and you will be able to specifically strengthen your oral listening and speaking skills in French.

Workload and evaluation
This course is offered without assessment or credit. No preparation for the course is required.

The course will often be able to have an authentic document as a trigger.

The authentic document has not been specifically designed for the language course. It may therefore even contain mistakes in French (the speakers express themselves in a natural way) ;-).
It offers the opportunity to discover different accents, speech registers and ways of speaking in French.
It encourages learners to develop comprehension strategies.
It triggers one or more topical discussion topics, ideal for a conversation course.

Goals

This course focuses on the following points:

  • Competence, fluency and freedom of expression
  • Spontaneous answers to questions
  • Engaging in discussion
  • Being able to express opinions and thoughts
  • Knowledge of cultural contexts
Prerequisite

The General Conditions for Participation in Language Courses apply.
