This course is for participants whose level corresponds to level A2 or B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please only register if your level corresponds to the course. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us to take a placement test.

Content

Target audience
This course is open to all students and employees of the University of Fribourg and partner institutions with pre-intermediate (A2) to intermediate (B1) English language skills. 

Course contents and teaching method
This course focusses on developing speaking skills (fluency and accuracy) and is highly communicative. Participants will work in pairs and small groups on themes including: identity, jobs, education, sports, money, fame... and many more. Come along and have fun practicing your English! 

Workload and evaluation
There is no homework or evaluation on this course.

Materials
Handouts are provided and all the course materials are available on Moodle. 

Goals

By the end of this course you will have developed your ability to:

  • identify the topic of discussion (when it is conducted slowly and clearly)
  • exchange opinions using simple language
  • make and respond to suggestions
  • agree and disagree with others
