Michelle Reed MMBA

Executive & Academic Director

Michelle Reed has over 25 years of international executive experience in legal and regulatory compliance, corporate governance and sustainability. Before joining the University of Fribourg in 2023, she held senior leadership positions in multinational companies, most recently as Chief Compliance & Sustainability Officer, with responsibility for global compliance and sustainability programs.

As Executive & Academic Director of the Institute for International Business Law (IBL), she has overseen significant growth, more than tripling its student community, expanding its international reach and introducing new postgraduate programs, including the CAS in AI and the Law. Having taught at the IBL since 2011, she combines her corporate and academic experience to strengthen the Institute's position as a provider of internationally oriented, practice-based postgraduate legal education.

Michelle holds a Master's degree in Business, an MBA and a Master's degree in Sustainability Management. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Management, researching the effectiveness of EU circular fashion policies. She is particularly committed to helping professionals build on their experience, develop new skills and advance their careers.
