Since 2024, Dr. Reardon is a Senior Compliance Counsel at Nestlé, where he oversees, inter alia, Nestlé’s compliance with economic sanctions regulations as well as its ABAC and conflict-of-interest policies.
Between 2018 and 2024, Dr. Reardon worked as an outside counsel at MLL Legal AG (previously Froriep Legal SA), where he focused on international litigation and arbitration, as well as on regulatory matters, particularly economic sanctions and competition law.
Dr. Reardon was previously an associate at DLA Piper LLP (US), based in Washington, D.C. (2013-2018). He focused on FCPA investigations, compliance and litigation, securities litigation, antitrust compliance and litigation, and arbitration. He also worked on sanctions and financial-criminal matters and was a lobbyist registered with the United States Congress.
James F. Reardon regularly publishes, particularly in the fields of corruption and economic sanctions, and also speaks and gives lectures in these areas, particularly for financial institutions.
Dr. Reardon is both civil and common law trained and admitted to practice in Washington, D.C. (inactive status). He passed both the Geneva and Illinois bars. He holds a Ph.D. (Magna cum Laude), a Master of Law (Magna cum Laude, bilingual French-German) and a Bachelor of Law (cum Laude, bilingual French-German) from the University of Fribourg as well as a J.D. from Northwestern University (Dean’s List). He was also an Academic Visitor at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Oxford University.
