Dr. Ali Osman Özdilek is a lawyer, academic, entrepreneur and legal technologist with a multidisciplinary background in law, technology, compliance and business governance. He holds an LL.M. in International Contracts and Arbitration from the University of Fribourg and a PhD in Public Law from Özyeğin University. He lectures at universities and has provided professional training for institutions such as the Banks Association of Turkey on contracts law, data protection, IT law and compliance.
He is a member of the European Law Institute and has published extensively on IT law, cybercrime, legal technology and regulatory transformation, including several books and numerous professional articles. Beyond academia and legal practice, Dr. Özdilek has founded and managed several companies in the fields of legal services, governance, risk and compliance, compliance advisory and technology-enabled regulatory solutions. His work focuses on translating complex legal frameworks, including the GDPR and the EU AI Act, into practical governance models, operational controls and business-oriented compliance systems. This combination of legal scholarship, regulatory implementation and entrepreneurial experience informs his teaching approach, particularly in areas where law, technology and organisational decision-making intersect.
