Department of Informatics

We are a modern department that undertakes teaching activities and applied research in a variety of fundamental and emerging fields in computer science and information management, which allows our students to be prepared for both the current and future needs of the labour market.

In our teaching activities, we place particular emphasis on maintaining a good interpersonal relationship between students and teachers and on fostering team spirit, cooperation and openness.

ScienceWISE: a semantic platform for paper discovery and collaboration

ScienceWISE platform allows users to annotate, bookmark and discover scientific papers according to their personal interests. In detail, they can organize papers into collections, and perform semantic browsing and semantic search over these collections.

HisDoc III targets historical document classification for large amounts of uncategorized facsimiles, with the intent to provide new capabilities for researchers in the Digital Humanities.
