Content
The CAS combines three components: a common academic foundation, a practical training programme of your choice and a CAS thesis.
Step 1 — Core Modules | English
All participants attend three core modules at the University of Fribourg:

Business leadership
Prof. Dr. Stephan Nüesch
Business leadership is not primarily about making profits, but about generating added value. Using tools, students learn how to strategically position a product or service to survive even in the face of intense competition or, even better, to eliminate the competition. Students also learn to understand and to analyse a balance sheet and income statement.

Business ethics
Prof. Dr. Sébastien Mena
Many decisions have a social and ecological as well as an economic component. Especially in situations where there is a trade-off between social/ecological and economic considerations, an ethical compass is required. Business ethics deals with the following questions, among others: How can unethical and illegal behaviour be avoided? What role do companies play in society? What influence do companies have on the environment?

Soft skills

Soft skills such as effective communication and the ability to deal with conflicts are essential when interacting with others and to be successful in a professional environment. Conflicts not only paralyse the effectiveness and efficiency of teams, they can also lead to (internal) resignations or burnouts. Students learn how to deal constructively with conflicts and how, as managers, they can motivate and lead individuals, teams and entire departments through good communication.

Explore contemporary leadership approaches, strengthen team collaboration and develop practical tools to lead people and organisations through change.

Develop the competencies needed to lead teams and coordinate complex crisis situations.
The programme combines crisis communication, decision-making under pressure, interorganisational coordination, civil-military cooperation and resilience.

Cheeky Level Mentoring Programme - Cheeky Level | German
Engage in a personalised mentoring experience focused on personal development, leadership growth and practical organisational transformation.
Step 3 - CAS Thesis
Complete your CAS by writing a 10–20-page academic thesis that allows you to demonstrate your understanding of the knowledge acquired during the programme.
The thesis can be written in English, French or German.
