Were you surprised to discover the global journey of your smartphone or laptop before it reached your hands? Could you have ever imagined the extensive network of international firms involved in creating these devices? International business plays a pivotal role in numerous companies, encompassing activities such as investing abroad, imports, exports, outsourcing and licensing agreements with foreign counterparts.

The CAS begins with a module dedicated to the competitiveness of firms and the strategies employed to gain a competitive edge. The program delves into essential topics such as the main forms of internationalization, necessary conditions for investing abroad, modes of entry into foreign markets, organizing the value chain involving activities abroad, the role of geographical and cultural distances, strategies for global expansion or companies that are born global, optimizing operations abroad (including transfer pricing), and criteria for selecting specific locations for international activities. These are just a few of the questions addressed in the course, with case studies to be discussed in class and guest speakers sharing their valuable international experiences.
