Digital Creation and the creator Economy: Monetizing content with AI.

The workshop consists of 2 parts and focuses on the effective use of AI for academic and professional success.

Part 1: using AI in job application (CV, motivation letter, prompt engineering) including 2 practical tasks on ATS-based CV tailoring, prompt engineering, and motivation letter writing.

Part 2: Using AI for academic projects and presentations
Exploration of AI tools for brainstorming, structuring ideas, creating visuals, and developing multimedia content for academic purposes.

Objectives

For Part 1:

  • Remember the principles of ethical AI usage;
  • Uderstand the core concept behind LLM work process (Chinese room, etc.), principles of ATS work;
  • Apply acquired knowledge in prompt engineering to your everyday and work tasks;
  • Analyze how different phrasing, tone, and requests applied to the prompt can change the output given by the AI (principle of garbage-in-garbage-out);
  • Evaluate the AI output both with use of AI and your own critical thinking skills;
  • Create your own prompt, CV, motivation letter using AI.
 

For Part 2:

  • Remembering the methods and prompts, tools and websites used to create images and clips with AI;
  • Understand the role, benefits, and limitations of AI in supporting learning, project development, and academic communication, including potential risks associated with AI overuse;
  • Apply AI tools to brainstorm, structure, and develop ideas for a study project, group assignment, research topic, or oral presentation;
  • Analyze how different prompts produce different results, knowing the difference between a good prompt and a bad prompt;
  • Create visual and multimedia materials (e.g., images, slides, short videos) to communicate academic content clearly and effectively;
  • Explore how AI-related competencies can support academic success and future professional development in the Swiss context.

Prerequisites

  • Generic computer skills (typing, surfing);
  • Very primitive knowledge of AI.
