C2 - SoTL Project

This course unit enables participants to develop and implement a personal project following the SoTL approach Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (Scholarship of Teaching and LearningSoTL) approach. It builds on the foundations and tools introduced in the course C1 – Introduction to SoTL.

The personal project is based in particular on the collection of empirical data from students, depending according toon the research question being investigated. Participants carry out their personal project under the supervision of a person appointed designated by the CAS programme managementdirection.

All relevant information, including registration procedures and possible submission datesdeadlines, will be communicated during course C1.

Objectives

By the end of the course unitcourse, participants will be able to:

  • formulate an appropriate research question rooted in their teaching practice and focused on student learning
  • conduct a relevant literature review to investigate this pedagogical question
  • design an applied research project by mobilising using appropriate methods of data collection and data analysis methods
  • analyse their teaching practice in light ofconsidering empirical findings and the literature in higher education pedagogy
  • share their experiences and the results of their personal project with colleagues or in relevant academic contexts

Prerequisites

Participation in both sessions and completion of the activities of course C1 – Introduction to SoTL are mandatory prerequisites for undertaking the personal SoTL project.
