Dr. Diana Ingenhoff is a full professor of organizational and strategic communication and vice-dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). Since 2014 she is president of the Swiss Association of Communication and Media Research (SACM), for which she is a member of the Executive Board since 2009. Also, she is delegate of the Swiss Social Science Policy Council at the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS). She is a scientific member of the Steering Board of the recently founded Stifterverein Medienqualität Schweiz, and responsible for the quality rating of Swiss news media.

In summer 2016, she founded the first international Public Diplomacy Interest Group at the International Communication Association (ICA), and was elected chair and ICA board member. Also, she was elected Executive Director at EUPRERA (European Public Relations Education and Research Association). She is currently a Research Fellow in Global Public Relations of the Arthur Page Society (2015-2017). She serves on the editorial boards of Public Relations Review, Public Relations Inquiry, and International Journal of Strategic Communication.

Her research and teaching responsibilities include organizational communication, international public relations research, especially with regard to public diplomacy, reputation measurement, responsibility communication, migration debates, media quality, and new technologies at bachelor, master, doctoral and executive levels.  Her specialization concerns quantitative research methods and multi-method designs.

She headed the Center for Corporate Communication at the Institute for Media and Communications Management (= mcm institute) at the University of St. Gallen from 2002 to 2005, where she earned her PhD with dissertation on Issues Management in international corporations, which was awarded by the SACM, in 2003. In 2010, she finished her habilitation at the University of St. Gallen. She holds a master degree from the University of Essen in communication science, economics and psychology.

During her sabbaticals Diana Ingenhoff was invited as Visiting Professor to various universities, among others to Waikato University in Hamilton (New Zealand), Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane (Australia), University of Florida, University of Tennessee, and University of South Florida (USA), and maintains dialogue with the researchers within international ongoing research projects.

Dr. Ingenhoff’s research has been awarded several times, and has had articles published in several leading journals, including International Communication Gazette, Public Relations Review, Scientometrics, International Journal of Strategic Communication, Journal of Communication Management, Corporate Communication: An International Journal, European Journal of Communication Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society. Also, she regularly presents papers to the International Communication Association Annual Conference, the International Studies Association Annual Convention, the Academy of Management Annual Conference, the International Association for Media and Communication Research, and the European Communication Research Association among others.
