Multilingualism in the federal institutions: What lessons for Unifr?

The University of Fribourg is multilingual. In addition to the two official languages of the Canton of Fribourg, staff and students use a variety of other languages on a daily basis. This diversity is enriching but also presents numerous challenges for an institution – these challenges and practical solutions to address them will be in the focus of this presentation.

Dr. Laura Keller, scientific collaborator of the Federal Delegate for Plurilingualism, will discuss the challenges that working in multiple languages creates for the federal administration and present best practices that can be useful for other multilingual institutions, like the University of Fribourg.

The presentation takes place partly in German and partly in French and will be followed by an aperitif.

All practical information can be found in the University Agenda.
