Meeting Point Language Centre
Get ready and come along to the Language Centre!
Would you like to get to know some new people? Then you probably feel the same way as a lot of our other students do. When you do a language course at the Language Centre, you will have the chance to meet a lot of new people – to make new contacts.
At the Language Centre people from a wide variety of disciplines and different stages of life come together with a common goal - to learn a language. Our students say again and again that the people they meet on our language courses truly enrich their lives. And because the social aspect of (language) learning is so important in determining the overall success of learning, we strive to support the contact between learners.
However, this does not mean that our language courses are social events. In fact, the opposite is true: for all courses that you complete, you will receive ECTS-points. Alongside regular attendance throughout the course we also expect and encourage active self-study so that you reach the learning objectives and satisfy your individual learning needs.
Our courses are developed with the knowledge that the Language Centre is an academic melting pot of the University of Freiburg. Therefore, it is only natural that we discuss topics and texts from different disciplines, compare different academic traditions and consider different academic approaches. These different perspectives are greatly appreciated by our students, and it is this all-round diversity that makes our courses what they are. We are also fortunate that our learners are highly motivated people, making them a lot of fun to work with.
Language learning connects people!
