    Description

    This course provides a comprehensive introduction to neurochemistry and the biological basis of behavior. It examines how neurotransmitters, hormones, and pharmacological agents influence brain function, cognition, emotion, motivation, and behavior. Students will explore the neurochemical mechanisms underlying learning, memory, addiction, mood regulation, stress, reward, and psychiatric disorders. Emphasis is placed on understanding both therapeutic and harmful effects of drugs.

    Through lectures, discussions, case studies, and analysis of experimental research, students will develop an understanding of the relationship between brain chemistry and behavior, while gaining critical insight into the neuroscientific study of drugs and their effects on the nervous system.
