    Description

This seminar examines how nutrition and biology interact with psychological processes to shape mental health in parents and developmental outcomes in infants. Focusing on the perinatal period, the course integrates perspectives from psychology, nutrition science, biological mechanisms, and family systems to understand how mental health and feeding-related processes unfold within and across generations. Students will engage with key frameworks spanning psychological models, biological pathways, nutritional approaches, and system-level dynamics within families.

The seminar is structured around student-led sessions. Students will be randomly assigned to groups, themes and dates for oral presentations at the start of the semester and will present their work to the class in their chosen formats (e.g. case studies, debates, intervention design proposals, short social media concepts, or mini research projects).

Assessment is based on a group oral presentation, evaluating both conceptual integration and the ability to translate scientific knowledge into applied and communicable formats.
