    Description

    Course Content:

    In the course “Sleep & Cognition,” students will acquire profound knowledge in sleep research. They will learn about the basic principles and neural mechanisms of sleep, including sleep regulation and disturbances. The course covers a wide range of topics, from historical studies of memory to the role of sleep in memory consolidation, and how sleep oscillations contribute to memory reactivation. Additionally, students will explore dreams, the relationship between cognitive development and sleep, clinical aspects of sleep, and the influence of cognition on sleep. 

    Course Logistics:

    This weekly course is validated by a multiple-choice exam in the January/February session. Validation of the course is mandatory for starting a master thesis in the option “cognitive neuroscience”. Please note that this course will only take place every second year.

    Schedule: 

    • Day: Tuesday mornings, 10 to 12 am. 
    • Start Date: 22.09.2026
    • Format: Only online via MS TEAMS, as no rooms were available

    Details on the format of the upcoming sessions will be provided in the first session.

    • There you will also find the code for MS Teams.  
    • Please register for both platforms in time. The lecturer will not be able to provide technical help during the course.
