    In westlichen Gesellschaften leiden 20 bis 30% der Bevölkerung unter gestörtem, nicht erholsamem Schlaf. Schlafprobleme führen zu Absenzen am Arbeitsplatz, erhöhten Unfallraten und einer Zunahme medizinischer Untersuchungen, welche sowohl für das Gesundheitswesen wie auch die Volkswirtschaft an sich hohe Kosten verursachen. Aus diesen Gründen sind die Diagnose und die Behandlung von Schlafstörungen wichtig.

    Im Kurs werden die Grundlagen des normalen Schlafs, die diagnostische Kenntnisse über verschiedene Formen von Schlafstörungen sowie zentrale kognitiv-behaviorale Behandlungsprinzipien vermittelt. Teilnehmende erwerben Fertigkeiten in der Analyse von Schlafprotokollen, der Vermittlung von Erklärungsmodellen und der Anwendung evidenzbasierter Behandlungsstrategien der Insomnie.
