    Description

The methods and statistics workshop is for second-year Master's students and doctoral students who prepare the analysis of their data.

Students get support in developing an adequate data analytic strategy to test their hypotheses.

Students will also learn how to conduct multiple regression analyses and interpret the corresponding results. In the context of multiple regression analysis, we will discuss how specific effects can be calculated, how (confounding) variables can be controlled, and how moderator- and mediator effects can be tested.

Procedure: Students get exercises and work individually or in small groups on the following questions:

How can the content-related hypotheses / research questions be transformed into adequate statistical hypotheses? Which statistical test procedures can be used to test the hypotheses? Does the data meet the assumptions of the statistical tests? How can the statistical parameters be interpreted?

    Evaluation

    1) Test

    2) Protocol of the own statistical problems discussed in the methods- and statistics workshop

Three ECTS are awarded if the evaluation criteria are met. The course is not graded
