    Description

    Regardless of the field of expertise, psychological diagnosis is an important part of a psychologist's work. This teaching unit briefly covers the various diagnostic tools and focuses on the use of tests, as well as their limitations, in the diagnostic process in various fields of application (traffic, occupational psychology, etc.).

    Topics covered in the teaching unit:
    - Definitions, functions and issues in psychological diagnosis
    - The concept of testing and the various types of tests
    - Techniques for standardising and normalising scores
    - The controversy surrounding systematic bias (cultural or socio-economic) in skills and performance test scores
    - The usefulness and problems in the use of psychological tests
    - Analysis of professional standards for test writing and publication
    - Problems related to the writing and analysis of statements

    Validation consists of writing a diagnostic report based on the tests that students will have administered to a classmate.

    Training objectives

    Knowledge:
    - Define psychological diagnosis and outline its functions and challenges
    - Understand the usefulness and problems associated with the use of psychological tests

    Skills:
    - Gain practical experience in the use of psychological tests as an examiner and participant (test scoring and analysis)
    - Write a diagnostic report based on the data collected
