This includes the use of enterprise modeling methods, software environments as well as programming languages.

The course will comprise units with:

- Theoretical explanations of technologies and enterprise modeling methods used for digitalization
- Practical exercises for using the technologies
- Project work for applying the technologies to concrete use cases

The technologies will be selected based on the current research topics of the DIGITS group and may include for example: IT-based enterprise modeling methods, blockchains, visualization and virtual/augmented reality, device-less interaction, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, additive manufacturing.

Course requirements:
For this course, basic programming and conceptual modeling skills on the level taught in the Wirtschaftsinformatik I&II bachelor courses of the DIGITS group are required.

The course is directed towards students in information management (business informatics) and students in business administration who want to understand the technologies behind digitalization and gain first experiences in applying them to practical scenarios.

A laptop is needed for the practical exercises and the project part.

Training aims

- Gain knowledge on aligning business and IT in digitalization scenarios
- Understand the technologies behind digitalization
- Being able to communicate with IT experts
- Apply the technologies to small practical scenarios
- Work in project teams on a practical use case
