Simon Curty is a senior research assistant in the Digitalization and Information Systems Group at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He holds a PhD from the University of Fribourg in 2025. For his dissertation, he was awarded the 2025 Faculty Prize for the best thesis in theoretical natural sciences. His main areas of research include emerging technologies, enterprise architecture, model-driven engineering, business modeling, and conceptual modeling. Of specific interest are domain-specific languages and conceptual modeling methods for designing and analyzing systems integrating emerging technologies, specifically distributed ledger technology, large language models, or quantum computing.
Research Activities
Simon Curty regularily contributes to the scientific community as reviewer and as a program commitee member for venues and outlets such as PoEM, EMMSAD, ER, CSIMQ, and more. He co-organized a workshop on distributed ledger technologies for business porcess management at the BPM conference in 2025.
