Navigating the AI Jungle: A Practical Crash Course

After identifying common AI misconceptions, the workshop will lead students through discovering image generation models based on AI and audio generation model. The students will be able to try some models and learn how to analyse the outputs. 

Objectives

This workshop will give to participants skills to navigate AI spaces to find what they need on their own by knowing the right vocabulary, communities and tools. Students will be able to: 

  • Acquire basic knowledge of what AI is and how it operates 

  • Define physical limitations of AI models and what resources which type of AI models need 

  • Search information and be updated regarding the state of generative AI 

  • Use image, video and audio generation 

  • Analyse outputs considering how AI operates  

Target audience

Students

Students from all disciplines (BA, MA, Doctorant at Unifr or HES-SO) who wish to understand how AI can be accessible to them, with basic knowledge of how it works and of existing tools.
