B2-C1 German course for STEM fields

This innovative German course for participants from STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics, abbreviated "MINT" in German) was introduced last year and will continue this semester. It is open to all participants from within the Unifr or the HES-SO Fribourg but specifically tailored to the needs of students and academic staff from STEM fields. Participants should already be able to express themselves well in German and have reached at least level B1.

The course development was funded by federal subsidies for multilingualism distributed competitively by the Canton of Fribourg. The course consists of different face-to-face and online modules, which can be combined or booked individually. It takes place once a week for 90 minutes in total (two modules).

The main focus of the modules are: basic vocabulary for STEM fields, discussion & facilitation strategies, grammar, presentation & feedback, scientific writing & reading comprehension of specialized texts. Here you can find a brief overview of the modules and the detailed course descriptions of the two courses in the spring semester (Module 3 and Module 4).
