A2.2 Deutsch als Fremdsprache

Course content and teaching method
The content of the course is lessons 13-24 of the textbook. The focus is on the basic skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). The lessons are action oriented. There are individual and group activities as well as presentation sequences. At home you do additional exercises and learn the vocabulary.
Content: talking about the past; saying thank you; giving orders; giving opinions; talking about habits; expressing wishes and preferences; making appointments.
Grammar topics: declensions (adjective declension, n- declension); prepositions (local with dative and accusative); different verbs (reflexive verbs, verbs with complements); sentence order and relative clauses.

Workload and evaluation
The preparation and follow-up of the course takes about 4 hours per week.
Regular participation in the course (at least 80% attendance) is obligatory.
In the middle and at the end of the semester there is a test on reading, listening, writing, vocabulary and grammar. At the end of the semester there is an additional oral exam.

Objectives

Participants will reach level A2.2 of the CEFR by the end of the course. This means, among other things:

  • You can communicate in direct exchanges in simple and routine situations.
  • You can understand the essentials in short, clear messages and announcements.
  • You have a limited command of vocabulary and phrases related to concrete everyday needs.
  • You can express liking and disliking and talk about the past.
  • You can ask in writing for help with a move, thank someone for an invitation, and respond to a forum post.

Target audience

This course is for participants who have completed part of level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please only register if your level corresponds to the course. Participants of our partner institutions and Unifr employees can contact us to take a placement test if they are unsure of their level. Unifr students are automatically guided to the placement test when registering for a course on MyUnifr.
