A1.2 Français langue étrangère I
Target audience
This course is open to all students and staff of the University of Fribourg and its partner institutions and is aimed in particular at Bachelor's/Master's students, administrative staff and mobility students.
Content and teaching method
This course provides practice in oral and written expression on everyday topics:
shopping, preparing a meal, leisure activities, describing a person, recounting a memory, writing an autobiographical account, talking about one's studies, etc.
Time commitment and assessment
This course requires regular homework (around 2 hours per week).
To validate the course, students must attend at least 80% of the sessions and pass the final written exam.
Course material
For this course, you must purchase the Totem A1 manual (student manual only) available from the Librophoros bookshop next to the Language Centre.

Objectives
At the end of the course, the student can :
- understand familiar words and very common expressions about themselves, their family and their immediate environment; understand the main points of simple, clear announcements and messages.
- find specific, predictable information in everyday material such as advertisements, leaflets, menus and timetables; understand short, simple personal messages.
- communicate in a simple way and ask or answer questions on familiar topics; use simple phrases and sentences to describe where he lives and people he knows.
- write short, simple notes and messages, such as a postcard.
Target audience
This course is for participants who have completed part of level A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please only register if your level corresponds to the course. Participants of our partner institutions and Unifr employees can contact us to take a placement test if they are unsure of their level. Unifr students are automatically guided to the placement test when registering for a course on MyUnifr.
