Course contents and teaching method
The Phonetics B1-B2 I objective level course offered enables learners to work on the phonetics points corresponding to the content of the phonological system for levels B1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The course has been designed for the study of phonetics in its entirety: articulation, the relationship between sound and writing and prosody.

The course presents an approach to discovering phonetics through reception, observation and reflection. It also provides a summary of the phonetic point covered and exercises of progressive difficulty. 

Workload and evaluation
This course does not require regular homework.
To validate the course, you must attend at least 80% of the sessions and pass the examination offered at the end of the semester. 

Materials
For this course, you must have the necessary course documents, which you will find on Moodle.
No textbooks are required.  

Objectives

The spring semester course in Phonetics Objective levels B1-B2 II, will cover the following points:

- work on particular sounds that are distinguished by their articulation

- the role of phonetics in language creation (verlan, onomatopoeia)

- specific features of French accents in different regions of France and in other French-speaking countries.

We will often use grammar to work on phonetics.

Target audience

This course is for participants who have completed level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please only register if your level corresponds to the course. Participants of our partner institutions and Unifr employees can contact us to take a placement test if they are unsure of their level. Unifr students are automatically guided to the placement test when registering for a course on MyUnifr.
