A2 Français langue étrangère: Grammaire (à l'écrit et à l'oral) I
Course contents and Teaching Method
The Grammar (written and oral) I course at the A2 level aims to help learners work on the grammatical points corresponding to the A2 level content of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The course is primarily based on practical exercises after the explanation of grammar rules. It strives to provide both written and oral exercises to be done individually, in pairs, or in groups.
Computer-based exercises with integrated feedback are also available.
Workload and Evaluation
This course requires regular work at home (approximately 1 hour per week).
To successfully complete the course, attendance of at least 80% of the sessions and passing the exams offered during the semester are mandatory.
Materials
For this course, you need to have the necessary documents, which can be found on Moodle.
No textbook needs to be purchased.
Objectives
The Grammar Course (written and oral) I at the A2 target level allows learners to work on grammar points corresponding to the A2 level content of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The course is primarily based on practical exercises following explanations of the grammar rules. It aims to provide both written and oral exercises to be done individually, in pairs, or in groups.
You will also find computer-based exercises with integrated correction.
For each grammar point, there are:
- A grammar sheet containing the essential points of the grammar rule, providing simple explanations with concrete examples, offering advice, strategies, and remarks on the French language in context.
- Implementation tools with systematization exercises and application activities (written and oral).
The fall semester of the Grammar Course (written and oral) I at the A2 target level will cover the following grammatical points:
- Gender of objects and concepts
- Interrogation (open questions: response with yes or no)
- Interrogation (closed questions to obtain precise answers: Where? When? How? Why? How much?)
- Interrogation about a person or thing / Who? What? Which? / What are?
- Countries/cities/regions/continents: Gender and preposition + nationalities (spatial situation)
- Adjective / masculine and feminine / plural / special cases
- Direct personal pronouns (le-la-les) and indirect personal pronouns (lui-leur)
- Negation: ne rien, ne jamais, ne personne, ne plus, ne que
Target audience
This course is for participants who have completed level A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please only register if your level corresponds to the course. Participants of our partner institutions and Unifr employees can contact us to take a placement test if they are unsure of their level. Unifr students are automatically guided to the placement test when registering for a course on MyUnifr.
