Scientific research of the Institute of family medicine

The Institute of Family Medicine, with its multidisciplinary team, develops research aimed at better understanding the role of family medicine in the canton of Fribourg and in the Swiss health care system in general, as well as meeting the needs of physicians working in practice and providing them with useful, evidence-based data.

The Institute of Family Medicine also seeks to promote the next generation of physicians by training medical students in research through supervision of Master's and PhD theses.

Research at the Institute of Family Medicine focuses on three main areas:

• Management of chronic diseases in the family medicine setting
• Integrative and complementary medicine
• Health Services Research
