Unifr Professors
The Welcome Center for Academics (WCA) looks forward to advising and supporting professors who wish to host a threatened scholar in their department or institute. We invite Unifr professors to get in touch with the WCA as early in the process as possible: welcome-academics@unifr.ch.
Unifr professors who know a threatened scholar and would like to host them for a 12-month research stay are invited to check whether their prospective visitor already has a valid status from SAR. If they have not secured the status yet, please inform the WCA.
Funding: Once the prospective visitor’s at-risk situation has been verified, the WCA will support professors in their application for the SNSF grant. Please note that the number of SNSF grants is limited. We thus recommend exploring other sources of funding, too.
Professors who do not know any threatened researchers but would like to get involved will find information on scholars who are currently seeking placement on SAR’s website. Upon request, the WCA can offer more detailed information on the researchers listed.
