Our Mission

The Central organizations (Commission and Coordination Committee) in charge of international relations as well as the International Relations Office have the following mission:

  1. Strategic Role:
    Define and implement the University’s strategies in all matters related to international engagement.
  2. Development and Coordination:
    Initiate, design, and develop inter‑university initiatives in collaboration with faculties; promote new forms of cooperation; ensure coherence across international projects; and proactively communicate opportunities.
  3. Leadership, Management, Support and Facilitation:
    Provide administrative support to the university community on all internationalization matters; create and implement frameworks that foster exchanges between the University of Fribourg and institutions abroad; and manage exchange programmes and partnerships.
  4. Liaison, Information, and Public Relations:
    Promote and maintain relationships with international partners and relevant authorities; nurture ties within the partner university network; and ensure appropriate hosting and welcoming of delegations and incoming students.
