Scholars at Risk

Two conditions must be met to be able to complete a 12-month research stay at the University of Fribourg with the SAR program:

  1. The scholar’s at-risk situation must be confirmed by SAR
  2. The scholar’s project must qualify for SNSF funding

 To apply for a research stay at Unifr, scholars are invited to send the following information to the Welcome Center for Academics (welcome-academics@unifr.ch):

  1. Their CV
  2. A brief description of their situation and the risk they are facing
  3. A description of the research project they would like to conduct at Unifr
  4. The Unifr department, institute, or research group that corresponds to their research interests

 The Welcome Center for Academics will review the scholar’s information, examine the compatibility with the research areas available at Unifr, and will inform the candidate of potential next steps to follow.
