Pigments

Color has always been attractive for Man. From the earliest period, natural pigments were used for body painting, textile dying and artworks. Sophisticated strategies were developed to obtain high quality coloring agents including the development of the production of artifical components (already in the pharaonic Egypt).
Chemistry, mineralogy and petrology can provide better identification of the substances used as pigments. It is also possible to study the technique of pigments production and use.
