Curriculum Vitae

Martin Wallmeier graduated in 1992 from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster with a degree in Business Administration. In 1997 he obtained his PhD from the University of Augsburg with a dissertation on return anomalies in stock markets. The habilitation followed in 2002, also at the University of Augsburg, with a thesis on option prices and implied price processes. Since October 2002 he is Professor of Finance and Accounting at the University of Fribourg. He declined the offer of a W3 professorship in finance at Freie Universität Berlin in 2009. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Dayton/Ohio (2007) and the Université Laval/Québec (2014).

University prize 1997 of the University of Augsburg and award 1998 of the Hans Ansmann Foundation (for dissertation); Scientific award of the Bavarian State Bank 2003 (for habilitation thesis); Election as lecturer of the year by the participants of the MBA program of the University of Augsburg (2000/2001); Swisscanto Award for the Best Professional Paper 2008 ("Optimal investments in volatility", Financial Markets and Portfolio Management, Vol. 22, No. 2, 2008, p. 147-167, with R.
